Calypso is an integral part of our shared cultural heritage. This annual competition is designed to encourage young people to learn about the art form, interact with and be mentored by professional calypsonians and receive training in the performing aspects of the art form.
The ultimate goal is to increase awareness and knowledge of the art form and encourage children and young people to get involved in the art form as writers, musicians or calypsonians.
Participation is open to all primary schools in Anguilla.
The programme is executed annually for a period of 3-6 months.
The 5th successful National Competition was in 2021.
