Overview

The National Youth Awards is a celebration of excellence in personal development, leadership and public and community service for youth and youth-led organisations and initiatives.


The National Youth Awards is targeted at young persons between the age of 13 and 30 years and/or youth-based organisations, whose work exemplifies the Government’s aspirations for youth development in such areas as governance, leadership, youth empowerment, youth innovation, youth volunteerism, youth entrepreneurship, and youth excellence in academia, sports, culture and the arts. Awards are given based on a nomination process that is reviewed by an independent body.

  8. A verifiable commitment to young people and youth development
  9. A lifelong commitment to youth work

Eligibility

  1. The nominee must have been engaged in public service for
    more than 12 months either in a professional or voluntary capacity
  2. The nominee should not be older than 35 years on 31st December 2014
  3. Individuals must be residents of Anguilla for a minimum of 5 years
  4. Individuals cannot nominate themselves
  5. Organisations should be in existence for a period of no less than 5 years
  6. Nominees should give permission for their names to be put forward
  7. The winner must agree to participate in publicity activities organised by the Department of Youth and Culture for a period not exceeding one year following the official ceremony
