Programmes

Overview

The Youth E.S.C.A.P.E. programme is an annual summer programme for school-aged children which provides training and immersion experiences in the arts, particularly in disciplines that are not provided within the schools’ curriculum.

Involvement by children and young people in the arts can be used as a tool for the transfer of positive values, development of creative abilities for the achievement of future livelihoods, creation of positive avenues for personal and group expression and the positive engagement of children and young people during leisure.

The Department works in collaboration with a wide range of experienced partners to achieve its mission. The Department of Youth and Culture provides an agreed package of administrative and financial support as well as coordination services to support marketing and fundraising. The partner organisation is responsible for the management and implementation of the particular component.
