The Gift of a Referral to the Job Link Up Programme

The Department of Youth and Culture is asking all partners and concerned groups to assist in identifying, and referring our most vulnerable youth to the Job Link-Up Programme. The Job Link-Up Programme seeks to support the engagement of young people in sustainable livelihoods and provides opportunities for continuing education, acquisition of life skills, apprenticeships, psychosocial support, counselling, mentorship along with personal and professional development.

Possible candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Non-Completion of High School
  • Personal Disability
  • Current or past health and or substance abuse-related problems
  • Single parent
  • Low levels of literacy and/or numeracy
  • English is a second language
  • Regular contact with justice, probation, child welfare or social assistance systems
  • Homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless
  • Inadequate social support (family, friends or community support)
  • Poor self-and/or behaviour management
  • Unemployed or at risk of being unemployed

Eligibility for entry into the Programme:

  • Must be a Belonger of Anguilla
  • Must be between the ages of 16 and 30 on entering the Programme
  • Participant must be willing to positively improve their attitude, behaviour and academic standing
  • Must commit to the completion of the Programme

Job Link-Up Referral Forms can be collected from the Department of Youth and Culture from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (Monday – Friday).
